Meeting with the OECD delegation on the development of the intellectual property system of Kazakhstan

   August 26, 2015  the delegation of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)  visited  S.Seifullin KazATU  , at the request of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, preparing the review of the Intellectual Property System of Kazakhstan in the framework of the project "Enhancing competitiveness by optimizing the innovation policy in Kazakhstan ".

   The purpose of the review is to develop a set of recommendations aimed at ensuring the country's economic growth by influencing the effectiveness of innovation through improving the national intellectual property system of Kazakhstan. The study will be based on a deep analysis of the national intellectual property system and will contain recommendations based on "best practices" in this field.

   The delegation included Dr. Jose Raymond de Ros (consultant to the OECD, associate professor of the Autonomous University of Madrid, Spain), Mr. Chen Zhao (OECD consultant, Paris, France), M. Nurakisheva - OECD consultant and A. Utegulov - an analytical center. "

  Within the framework of the meeting, the issues of the possibility of implementing innovations in the universities of Kazakhstan, constraining factors of their development were discussed; the role of intellectual property for scientific research, the role of industrial support and involvement in the innovation process at the University, the opportunities and constraints for Kazakhstan's universities in the application of intellectual property, etc., the receipt of the University's experts' recommendations for the development of the intellectual property system in the country.
