The First International Scientific and Practical Conference on "Healthy Nutrition, Ark of Kazakhstan's Taste

   September 11, 2015 on the basis of JSC " S.Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University. "(hereinafter - KATU) in cooperation with the" Slow food Astana "Association the First International Scientific and Practical Conference" Healthy Nutrition, Ark of the Taste of Kazakhstan "was held. This project has no analogues in the republic and is unique in its content.

   The conference was attended by representatives of state and public organizations: Mr. Giancarlo Gobbi - Commercial Attache of the Italian Embassy in Kazakhstan, Tua Altangerel - Deputy Permanent Representative of UNDP in Kazakhstan, Akhmetova H. Zh. - Leader of the Representative Office of the International Association Slow Food Astana, Syzdykova Sh. V. - Chairman of the Center of National Values "OTBBASY", Levin Vladimir Gennadyievich. - Leader of the Slow Food Almaty Consortium; representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, representatives of educational organizations, as well as PPS, young scientists, doctoral students, undergraduates and students of our University.

   The main partners of the event were "Slow Food International", Kazakhstan's convivium (community) "SlowFoodAstana", NGO "Center for National Values" OTBBASY ", with the support of the National Commission for Women and Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNDP Office in Kazakhstan.

   The conference covered current issues and problems of healthy eating; promoting the preservation of traditional food products and the formation of a high commitment to domestic and environmentally friendly products; information was provided on endangered traditional food products, work on the production of products by local farmers was highlighted.

   Particular interest in the work of the conference was shown by students and undergraduates of technical, agronomical faculties and the Faculty of Veterinary and Livestock Technology due to the fact that today KATU is one of the 10 basic universities of the country for training specialists for the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development for 2015-2019 , where one of the directions of the introduction of the profile master's program is the training of specialists in the specialty "Food Production".

   The conference was attended by more than 250 people from among scientists, government officials, public figures, catering workers, farmers, gardeners, vegetable growers, restaurateurs, representatives of NGOs and the media, as well as delegates from Italy, Russia, Kyrgyzstan and the regions of Kazakhstan.

   In addition, within the framework of the event, the exhibition "Ark of the taste of Kazakhstan" - our history, culture, traditions ", where you could get acquainted with the disappearing traditional products and the possibility of tasting dishes.
